Winter - December, January, February
The winter months at Hueston Woods present the traveler with a variety of weather situations varying from rain to ice to snow. Precipitation amounts also vary greatly from year-to-year. The average high for winter is 42 and the average low is 25. Guests will wish to pack warmly. This includes overcoat, boots, gloves, scarf , and hat, but do not forget your bathing suit for indoor swimming.
Spring - March, April, May
Early spring months can be a carbon copy of winter months with the likelihood of either rain or snow. During the late spring months at Hueston Woods with all the new forms of life coming alive in the woods and all the beautiful flowers blooming, the temperatures can be very pleasant. High temperatures for the early spring months will only average 54 but will average 75 in May while the lows for March will average 34 and 53 for May. Guests will wish to pack for a variety of weather possibilities, ranging from winter extremes to near summer like conditions. Most people are comfortable in t-shirts and pants for picnicking in the park and a light jacket is a good idea for evenings outdoors. Don't forget your golf gear!
Summer - June, July, August
The summer months are the best times for our visitors to enjoy all of the park's activities. Golfing, paintball, fishing, boating, swimming, biking, and hiking are just a few of the many popular activities that guests of Hueston Woods can enjoy. Summer is the hottest season with daytime temperatures averaging in the mid 80's. Overnight temperatures are pleasant, in the 60's - perfect for an evening stroll through the woods. Pack light clothes and plenty of sunscreen for a day at the beach or just lounging by the pool.
Fall - September, October, November
Be sure to pack a pair of pants and a sweatshirt with your shorts and tank tops in the early fall and pack warmly for the end of the season. The daytime temperatures can vary from the upper 70's to the lower 50's for the high. Evenings can get chilly, ranging from upper 50's to the mid 30's for the low.
